"The best book for understanding how to feed the raw diet is Sue Johnson's,
"Switching to Raw". It is simple and easy to follow. The book details what equipment you need, how to buy the meat, how to make the meals and gives a sample diet plan. It is also in good sized print, which is wonderful while you are looking at it
with hands full of raw meaty bones and bowls...(BG)"

"Good grief, Sue! I certainly didn't expect to receive the book so soon!! It was delivered today and I've read it from cover to cover and started taking notes...
It's absolutely WONDERFUL! I wish I would have had it before I started our diet, but I'm sure glad to have it now. Thank you for writing in terms easily understood by us beginners. Thanks again," ...Barb Bradley

"There is one very inexpensive book that I would urge *every* newbie to
read....it's not esoteric, nor political, just gives the KISS method of BARF
(that's the Keep It Simple, Stupid method *G*)....it's Sue Johnson's
SWITCHING TO RAW, easily the *only* book a newbie would
need to get started." ...Sharyn Cerniglia
"When I first got it, I thought that all of the blank pages were odd, but
I've come to rely on them like crazy. I used your example requirements and
modified them up and down for my individual dogs. So, now I have a handy
spot to list what each dog needs for feeding time, and what I need total when
I shop. I also love the calender that you provide with suggestions for the
evening meals. Now I have a schedule. I think your book is a wonderful
addition to my raw diet library. I'm also glad that I can hand copies out
to friends whom ask me about my feeding. I also like the spiral binding. It
makes it easy to use as a workbook, so please don't ever change that. :-)
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't thank you enough. :-)" ...Wendy

"Sue's book is a common-sense approach to why to feed a raw diet, what's
wrong with kibble, the basic ingredients of the diet, supplements, etc. She
discusses all the questions that people ask -- bacteria in raw meat, the
safety of bones, the great
grain debate, how to switch, etc. A sample month of menus, showing balance
over time, and the approximate quantities of food for different sized dogs
are included. She goes into the changes that you'll see, including some
detox symptoms. She ends with a reference list of additional reading,
including of course Billinghurst, Schultze, Volhard, Levy, etc. Sue's book is
a valuable addition to my growing library and I heartily recommend it for
all, especially for her targeted audience of people new to BARF. We all
asked the same questions and were scared to switch, and Sue answers with
common sense and experience" ...Debi Best
"This book is just great, can be given as a gift, used for club auctions,
raffles, etc. So many times, for rescue, we are holding different raffles,
and instead of just giving a dog toy, this is just a great idea. You will be
getting my order shortly for
more of them. Again, this is wonderful!" ... Deanna Cuchiaro

"As a breeder, this book is a must to hand out to all your future puppy owners. I had two different owners that were 'sitting on the fence' on the raw diet and after they received the book they called me, very excited, and told me that they are going to do this diet and switch their current dogs to it as well. They loved the book, it made a lot of sense and drove the raw diet home. Thank you Sue! My puppies thank you!"

"Thank you for making it so simple. You see my largest concern was analyzing everything they ate so that they would have a balanced diet. When you said we don't eat this way, why should our dogs. Well it just hit home for me. I thought every meal had to be complete and balance, just like the pet food industry has thought us to think."

"It's been my beginner's bible. It made the whole process of starting to educate myself and switching over completely manageable and enjoyable. I absolutely love feeding them this way. Going on three months later I can't believe how different they look and feel." ....Liz Hauck

"I have been trying this diet for a few months, but things just felt so complicated and I didn't fully understand about some of the supplements and proper ratio and such.
Simple, clear and I love the workbook design! (I'm itching to grab a pen as we speak!!!)
Your easy to understand chapters REALLY cleared things up and brought it to a usable level right from the beginning.
As a German Shepherd Breeder and Service/Therapy/OB dog trainer, diet has always been important to me as I KNOW it affects ability and health. (Healthy service dogs are a MUST!
Again thank you! You have my full recommendation and support! Feel free to use any of the above comments in promoting your book. You did an excellent job in publishing this title!"

"Great book!! I found "Switching to Raw" verrrry interesting, not to mention well-written. You have a good authorial style, easy-going, friendly but also authoritative in a way that made me trust you as a source "

"I would like to send you a huge THANK YOU for your book. 'Switching to Raw' finally gave me the confidence to start my two Doberman Pinschers, Ruger and Arwen, on a raw diet. I researched and read books on feeding BARF but it was all too intimidating to me. Your wonderful book made the switch so easy. I have already gotten into the raw food routine and it is so simple; I'm only sorry that I didn't find your book earlier! Thank you again for helping me through my raw diet fears!"
